Restoring R1Soft/Idera backups through cPanel

In this article, you will be shown how to easily restore your files from within your cPanel control panel. You will need to contact support if you require a MySQL database restored.

We take daily backup using enterprise level Idera/R1Soft systems, and store these backups for 3 weeks or more.
The backups are stored at a secure offsite location.

NOTE: You MUST be logged in directly as the cPanel user to do this. Reseller/VPS users will need to log out and log back in as the user.

Step 1: Login to cPanel account

You need to log in to your cPanel by your username and password.


Step 2: The R1Soft cPanel Plugin

Click on the "R1Soft Restore Backups" icon in cPanel. It is under the files section, or you can search for this in the search bar on the top left.

Step 3: Choosing Your Recovery Point

 

You will be taken into the backup server, and the available recovery points will be shown to you. You can move onto the next page of older backups by clicking on the small triangle pointing right at the bottom left of the page.



Choose the recovery point that you need to restore by clicking the yello folder icon on the right side ( )

Step 4: Selecting Files

 

You will be taken into a file manager initially displaying your home folder, you can double click on the folder name/icon to enter the folder and start browsing through your webspace.

 

NOTE: Your website files are held in the public_html folder.



You can tick the box next to any files or folders you want to restore. Once selected, click on the "Restore Selected" ()button to continue. You are also able to download the files by clicking on the blue floppy disk icon.

Step 4: Restoration

 

After clicking on the "Restore Selected", a popup box will appear warning you the file will be overwritten.

Click the "Restore" button to continue. The system will now start to restore your selected files/folders. The amount of time this takes depends on the size of your selection.

Once this is complete you should see a window similar to this:

 

You have now successfully restored a backup!
